The legal framework, in short

Under the Criminal Code, gambling is run or licensed by the provinces; in Manitoba that means PlayNow.com, operated by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries. Manitoba has no licensing system for private online casinos: PlayNow.com, run in the province by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, is the only provincially authorised site, and offshore platforms operate without provincial oversight. Nothing targets the player, but you give up provincial consumer protections if something goes wrong. As in land-based venues, 18 is the minimum age in Manitoba, checked against government ID.

Gambling responsibly in Bridgwater

First and foremost, gambling is a paid pastime. Decide how much and how long before you start, never try to win back what you lost, and switch on the limits on offer. If gambling becomes a worry, the Manitoba Gambling Helpline (1-800-463-1554) is free, confidential and available to everyone in Manitoba, Bridgwater included. Your family doctor and the province's addiction services can also arrange free counselling, for players and their families.
